Becoming a Conservation Warden

To become a Conservation Warden for Dan yr Ogof, you will need to be recommended by and existing warden and apply to the committee, filling in the application form, providing two passport type photographs and a cheque for £10.00 payable to the "Dan yr Ogof Cave Advisory Committee" to cover administrative costs.

You will be accredited as a warden when you have satisfied the Committee that you are familiar with the cave and that you have the skills and knowledge deemed necessary for a warden. Warden-permits are renewable every year. The Committee reserves the right to refuse wardenship to persons deemed by them to be unsuitable or who fail to complete the relevant records.

During the first year of your wardenship it is recommended that you attend a symposium on the cave, updating you on relevant conservation / science / safety matters. The Committee reserves the right to refuse a Wardens Permit to persons deemed by them to be unsuitable.
